7th ISPI Europe
Conference 30 October -
1 November, 2008
Galway, Ireland
An Organization IS its People
Balancing structure and process with
organization culture.
Ignore either at your client's risk. |
| |
Join us in Galway, Ireland this October
30 to November 1, 2008 to share your ideas, theories, observations,
insights, case studies, testimonials, models and approaches to
supporting performance improvement efforts that really work and that
truly address both processes and people.
|
We submit that if we are
to help organizations to achieve real and enduring competitive
advantage, we must focus on BOTH the organization's structures and
processes AND its people and culture. Here are just three (3) good
reasons you don't want to miss the 7th ISPI Europe/EMEA conference in
Galway. . .
- A World Class
Keynote Speaker
- An Attractive
List of Presenters AND Participants
- A New and
Inspiring Simulation
A World-Class Keynote Speaker!
ISPI Europe/EMEA is proud to announce our
2008 Galway conference keynote presenter. We feel very fortunate that
Mr. Terry Weight has agreed to join us and share his valuable
experience and insights.
Terry Weight has fulfilled a senior
role in the Organizational Effectiveness consulting team within
Shell for the past five (5) years. Specifically, he has been the
Methods Adviser within the Lean Six Sigma/Process Leadership team.
Terry's responsibility is much more than performance improvement. His
role is to bring about and support sustainable performance improvement,
in a clearly measurable/demonstrable way across Shell's global
processes. This includes the development of Shell's process methods, and
the training and coaching processes to support them. He has already
supported the early-adopter manufacturing site throughout its five (5)
year journey to performance excellence as well as several start-ups
across Shell. He has promoted Lean Six Sigma thinking and worked with
both internal and external consultants to bring about significant
results.
Terry has a very impressive CV, prior to
joining Shell, that outlines an extensive history of performance
improvement as both an internal and an external consultant to his client
organizations. He has worked in manufacturing, agrochemicals, toxicology
labs and many other sectors. In every position that he has held, Terry
can point to impressive improvements in business results for his client
company.
What we find really exciting and
compelling is Terry's perspective on his work. Following are Terry's own
words:
I love the work I do because I
hate the waste, frustration and hassle typically associated with
providing or receiving goods and services. I love getting people
involved in improving how they work. I am particularly bad,
personally, at tolerating being asked or expected to perform tasks
as part of my own job that are badly thought through and waste my
time!
We are very fortunate to have a keynote
presenter with the real life experience and impressive track record of
Terry Weight. He is passionate about his work and pleased to be joining
us to share some of his knowledge and experience in a presentation
entitled, "Creating organizations - in any sector - that both achieve
the spirit of 'An Organization is its people', and are high performing"
In addition, we are delighted to announce that Terry has offered to
facilitate a separate, special, more informal and interactive session
based on Deming's Red Beads.
Don't miss this opportunity to meet and
interact with Mr. Terry Weight!
An Attractive List of Presenters and
Participants
A Conference is its Presenters AND its
Participants. In addition to our keynote speaker, we will have nearly 20
sessions presented by an impressive array of professionals from a
variety of backgrounds. But that's not all! Experience tells us that a
successful conference must have BOTH great presenters AND great
participants! We have always attracted both and endeavored to create an
exciting, highly interactive environment to fuel the synergy between
presenters and participants. This year will be no exception.
A New and Inspiring Simulation
Once again, we plan to use a simulation
as just one way to involve everyone in an interesting, active way. Those
who joined us last year, note that we will have a new case and will be
implementing enhancements suggested in Heidelberg in 2007. This year's
simulation will be based on the real data from an actual performance
improvement project ongoing with a municipality (municipal government
- The Mayor and elected Council Members form the primary client.)
So, whether you are interested in sharing
your experiences in a formal way by being a presenter or if you would
rather come to learn, share, and contribute on a personal level, . . .
we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity.

About Galway
Galway has many colorful and distinctive
districts, despite its small size and population. Like many older
European cities, the periods of history which the city has witnessed
have left their mark on the central and outlying areas. The city centre
is that of a small, coastal town with its roots in the thirteenth
century. The streets are narrow and the older buildings cluster cozily
together. In this area of the city, many of the buildings and
architectural artifacts still testify to Galway's long history.
