Scott Casad, CPT, PhD - ISPI Board President

Scott Casad, CPT, PhD serves as a Commander in the U.S. Coast Guard where he is the Chief of Training at Coast Guard Training Center Yorktown. Originally a resident of Oregon, he graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in marine environmental science. After six years of operational assignments, he landed an instructor position and found his passion for performance technology, which led to Master's degrees from Old Dominion University and Boise State University. Over the past 12 years, his experiences range from schoolhouse instructional designer to performance consultant for major acquisitions to headquarters training manager of operational and mission support programs. Scott holds a Doctorate from Old Dominion University in organizational learning and development. His dissertation explored the role and effect of elementary teacher psychology capital on turnover, work roles, stress, commitment, and satisfaction.
Yvon Dalat - Symposium Co-Chair

Yvon is a certified program manager and performance improvement professional. He is the recipient of three Raytheon Six SigmaTM President’s and CEO awards as well as six learning industry awards. He currently serves as President of the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) in Michigan. He is a member of the Chief Learning Officer (CLO) Business Intelligence Board and has served as a judge to evaluate CLO LearningElite award applications. Yvon grew up in France, worked for 18 years in Germany, and now resides in Michigan with his wife and three sons. He recently published his second book on Amazon revealing data-driven insights about the way we lead our lives. Yvon is passionate about stoking the entrepreneurial fire with relevant content and research to help people rebalance their lives.

Ingrid Guerra-Lopez - Symposium Co-Chair

Ingrid Guerra-Lopez is an internationally recognized performance improvement expert and bestselling author. She is the chief executive officer of the Institute for Needs Assessment and Evaluation, professor at Wayne State University, a former director on the board of ISPI and previous editor-in-chief of Performance Improvement Quarterly. Ingrid has authored eight books, over 100 articles, and facilitated hundreds of presentations and workshops on topics related to performance assessment, monitoring and evaluation, and strategic alignment.

Tom Buck - Michigan Chapter Representative

Tom is President and Co-founder of Prism Learning Solutions, which has served Michigan and Ohio companies for 25+ years. Today, under Tom’s leadership, it is an agile and growing organization whose roster of consultants combine “tried and true” methodologies with cutting- edge workshop and meeting design, facilitation and performance support approaches for the benefit of a variety of clients in both the public and private sectors. He has developed, taught and consulted in implementations on leadership, teaming, quality, union-management relations, re-engineering, rational thinking and innovation skills.

Tom started his career at General Motors, working in many capacities, including on the plant floor.  He discovered a passion for training and development and, being entrepreneurial at heart, partnered with other forward-thinkers to create companies that were instrumental in building the learning profession in Southeast Michigan. As a consultant, he has been a valued advisor to leaders in a variety of industries, including Ford Motor Company, Amoco, US Postal service, Rubbermaid, healthcare companies and the Canadian Pacific Rail System. To further develop and contribute through mentoring other business leaders, he served as a Vistage Group Chair for four years, and currently facilitates the Western Michigan University CEO Forum and Innovate Farmington Group.

Sue Czeropski PhD, CPT– Education Chair

Sue is an accomplished Learning & Development Executive with more than 15 years’ experience improving business performance, strengthening organizational capabilities and leveraging best practices across organizations. Currently, Sue is the CLO of Performance Instruction LLC, where she uses her unique combination of e-Learning, education, management, training, and organizational development expertise driving transformative change in organizations. Sue is an active volunteer in ISPI. This year she served as the Education Chair for ISPI 2018 Conference, is a CPT reviewer and works to support the ISPI Bay Area Boise State University Chapter.
Bill Solomonson, CPT, PhD - Academic Representative
Oakland University

Dr. Bill Solomonson, CPT, is Associate Professor in the Department of Organizational Leadership at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. His research interests include the client-consultant relationship, multi-media learning theory, online learning pedagogy, and organizational performance improvement. Bill is a member of the ISPI Board of Directors and a steering committee member for the Alliance for Excellence in Online Education (A4EOE).
Nancy Burns – ISPI Board Member Liaison

Nancy Crain Burns, CPT, PhD, MBA, PMP, CAEL, is the founder/president of Crain Burns Associates LLC. As a Certified Performance Technologist, she leads individuals, teams and organizations through strategies, identifying opportunities that achieve effective solutions. Her dissertation research connected aspects of leadership, communication and influence styles that enhance self-reflection and collaboration with others. Nancy joined ISPI (International Society and Michigan Chapter) in 2003. She served as VP pf Programs in Michigan, CPT Chair/President of the Capella University Chapter and Program Chair/Society Liaison of the Tennessee Chapter. She is a CPT Reviewer for the international organization. As ISPI Director, she serves as a liaison to the Chapter Partnership Committee and collaborates with the Finance/Marketing Director, as well as other Board members.
Courtney Brooks Kamin – ISPI Executive Director

Courtney brings over a decade of experience in operations and program management in the non-profit and higher education sectors. Courtney joined ISPI in 2014 as the Chapter and Program Manager, and in 2016, she stepped into the role as Operations Manager. Prior to ISPI, Courtney worked in the field of violence prevention as an advocate, trainer, and policy advisor on state, national, and global issues. She still works independently with colleges and universities to provide federal mandated training as well as evaluating policy and training for faculty and staff on best practices. Courtney is a doctoral candidate in Sociology at the University of Kentucky with a Master’s degree from East Tennessee State University. Her research focuses on the intersections of violence, mechanisms of resistance, and reclamation of identity.
Coretta Ross – ISPI Education Coordinator

Coretta obtained a Master’s degree and a certification in Project Management and Business Administration from the University of Maryland University College. Currently, she teaches Child Development Associate classes at the University of the District of Columbia.
