Moving Beyond Talent Development to Developing Performance

Welcome to the kick-off of the ISPI 2019 Virtual Institutes! Over the past 18-months, ISPI President, Dr. Scott Casad, has made three trips to the Asian-Pacific Region to present in China and South Korea where the interest in and development of performance improvement continues to grow. The Virtual Institute leverages those foundational presentations to provide an introductory overview of ISPI and performance improvement as well as a look at what is meaningful work. Talent development continues to capture the attention and excitement of organizations around the world. No one doubts or questions that highly skilled, strongly motivated, and fully engaged workers are critical to the success of any organization regardless of its size; however, it is irresponsible to limit the focus to talent development. Without a systemic view of true performance support, relying on talent development is not sustainable and does not drive organizational results. Moving beyond development to embrace performance support systems creates greater meaning, impact, and results.
