The International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) is currently accepting applications for the 2020 Distinguished Dissertation Awards. This initiative seeks to promote excellence in student research that focuses on Performance Improvement Technology disciplines. The First, Second, and Third place recipient of the Dissertation Award will receive a free Conference registration to the 2020 Conference. The first-place winner will receive $500 and all winners will also have the opportunity to present their research findings during a poster session at the 2020 Annual Conference.
Only doctoral dissertation research defended between May 31, 2015 and November 30, 2019 are eligible. Ensure your dissertation is defended and approved by the Dissertation Advisory Committee before applying for the award. All doctoral students attending an accredited university throughout the world are eligible. Please note that former recipients of ISPI’s Distinguished Dissertation Awards and studies not conducted as part of dissertation research are not eligible for participation in this competition. Applicants from previous years, who did not receive the award, may re-apply. Award recipients are also encouraged to consider submitting a proposal to share their research results at the 2020 ISPI Conference.

- Completed Distinguished Dissertation Award Application. Be sure to note the application requires alignment to the Performance Technology Standards and detailed information about your study.
- A letter of recommendation from your Dissertation Academic Director. Please request that your adviser send the letter of recommendation directly to firstname.lastname@example.org following the instructions listed in the application form.
- Your current curriculum vitae and contact information. Please note all Award of Excellence applicants must be a Gold Level member with ISPI.
