The Effect of Leader’s Emotional Intelligence and Adaptability on Perceived Leader Effectiveness.
Dear friends and colleagues,
Do emotional intelligence or adaptability influence leadership effectiveness? You have an opportunity to participate in a Ph.D. research study exploring how emotional intelligence and adaptability impact leadership effectiveness. The results of this study will help inform decisions related to leader selection and development. Gabriel Lewall, a Ph.D. candidate at The Chicago School who works as a Senior Organizational Effectiveness Consultant at a community-owned electric utility company, is leading this research project. If you are a leader who meets the eligibility criteria in the attached flyer, please complete the online survey (see link in flyer) which includes self-assessments of emotional intelligence, adaptability, and leadership effectiveness. It should take you around 17-26 minutes to complete and responses will only be reported in aggregated, anonymized form. You will be prompted to invite your supervisor to independently rate your leadership effectiveness, which will take themapproximately 2-3 minutes.
As an appreciation for your time, you can enter a raffle to win 1 of 4 $40 VISA gift cards. Study participants will also be invited to join one of two 1.5-hour live webinars that will summarize the study results and that will offer education on strategies to develop emotional intelligence and adaptability skills as leaders. Your contribution is really appreciated, and it will not only help with research but the results will also help inform evidence-based HPT interventions related to leader recruitment, training and development.
